Thanks for looking at our Lightning 19ft Centre Cab.
This is a very heavily built plate boat made in Brisbane by Lightning Boats in 1995 from 6 and 5mm plate.
This boat's high sides and removable shade cover make it very good for family days out on the water. We have a portable toilet (not in pictures) that will be included in the sale.
The Black King had a full refit in 2006⁄7by the previous owner, and I put a Suzuki 175 on it in 2009. The engine only has 220-ish hours on it, and the boat has only been used about 600 hours in total.
The engine is a Suzuki 175hp four stroke, which was fitted to the boat in 2009. I have it serviced annually regardless of hours, and have all the electronic records of the servicing. Fuel capacity is 230L in dual tanks 185⁄45L split. At economical cruise, it does between 50 and 60kph, depending on conditions, and getting just under 2nm⁄L - it's a very quiet and efficient engine, and is good power for the boat.
It has a dual battery set up, batteries fitted were new lin 2014, and LED lighting throughout, including docking flood lights and deck lights.
The sounder and GPS are Navman units, which are adequate but there's better stuff out there now. The buyer will get all my marks where we've had success, which are around North Moreton, Hervey Bay and Mackay.
Other equipment includes hydraulic trim tabs, fuel flow meter, VHF Radio, EPIRB, Alvey winch mounts, plumbed live bait tank, underfloor kill tank, twin bilge pumps plus manual bilge pump, HyDrive hydraulic steering, clears and boarding ladder.
The boat has bunks - I'm 6'5 and slept comfortably in there on the rare occasion that I've done an overnighter. I have also had Sea-dek flooring installed on the deck, which is excellent underfoot, non-slip and easy to keep clean.
I also replaced the trailer in 2014 with an alloy I-beam trailer with bunks. There are no hassles with rollers and it tows and drives on⁄off beautifully. I happily launch and retrieve this boat by myself.
I've only used the boat once in the last 12 months - new business, new baby - so the trailer is basically brand new.
The boat has recently had some paint tidied up and presents in very good condition. It's a very good-looking boat that always gets appreciative comments at the ramp.
If you're into offshore fishing, this is a great boat - it's very safe, comfortable, very reliable and well maintained. I fish mostly around Hutchies and North Moreton and have been out there and back in all conditions.
I hope you're able to tell that I maintain this boat, and put the best into it when I have the opportunity to upgrade or replace anything on it. This means less hassles and higher levels of safety for me and the next owner.
